Houdini fins and palometa

Levi, Dawn and I will be headed down to the Yucatan in Mexico this coming week for some flats fishing , sun and warm weather. While much of the country recognizes early March as the beginning of spring like weather, here in Alaska we have at least 2 more months of winter left. Often I can’t get my plane back into the water before May 10th, so a mid-winter break for some fly fishing is welcome. Our pasty, white ,Alaskan winter tans will hopefully get a bit of color. Bonefish, permit and tarpon are all on the menu and I think we’ve tied plenty of saltwater flies in addition to the multitiudes we already had. Levi has tied well over a 100 bonefish bitters alone. Often the collecting and tying of flies is a hobby unto itself. We will keep all those interested updated on our trip.  John
